Home School:

Allegany-Steuben Co. LEAH:  A chapter of Homeschool New York (formerly called NYS LEAH: Loving Education at Home – see their website at http://www.leah.org ), in the Alfred-Almond area. We provide information and activities for home-schooling families.  Group activities include a fall soccer team for students age 12-18. Houghton Area Homeschoolers (HAH):  A local chapter of Homeschool NY – LEAH (Loving Education at Home) a Christian statewide homeschool organization. HAH LEAH is a Christian home-schooling support group whose intent is to encourage, inform, and provide fellowship for home-schooling families.  Group activities include a bi-weekly co-op, support meetings, and field trips. Wellsville Area Homeschoolers (WAH): A local support group established in 2001 offering a number of activities including support meetings, roller skate, field trips, newsletters, and co-op sessions. Over 40 families encompassing Allegany, Cattaraugus, and Steuben counties in NY, and Potter County in PA. Co-op meets at Penn-York Camp Wednesdays 9 AM-12:12 PM.  Contact Cala Stiff @ 207-944-9254

Counseling:

Alfred Counseling Associates: Counseling for youth, families, and individuals with locations in Wellsville, Alfred Station, Belmont, Dansville, and Wayland. There are multiple counselors with a variety of specialties and available hours. Music/Worship:

Outreach:

Gideon Card Rack:  Do you know how to use the cards?  The cards are free and when you send one, one or more Bibles are distributed.  Gideons and auxiliary members are available to give a presentation in your Sunday School class or Bible study group.  Contact Dan Hand 585-593-0299 or Ruth Doell 585-365-8263

Quilting Classes:  Making comfort quilts to give where needed (machine stitching), meets most Tuesdays, 9 AM-noon @ Yorks Corners Mennonite Church, 3350 County  Road 29 Wellsville.           (contact Pat at patriciadudek@yahoo.com)

The Little Chapel: This traveling chapel is a collection point for new and used bibles and Christian literature that is packaged and shipped to pastors and missionaries all over the world. Your church or Christian organization can host the chapel for an event, or just to clear out church libraries of unused materials to be given to others to spread the Gospel, to encourage believers or provide needed resources to pastors and teachers.  If you have materials you would like to donate, or would like to host The  Little Chapel, feel free to call 585-386-9269, or email photosforsouls@yahoo.com, to make arrangements.   There is no cost to partner in this ministry.

The Chapel is currently at Little Genesee 7th Day Baptist and after about 3 weeks it will be at Hebron 7th Day Baptist.

Pregnancy Care Center:

Bright Alternatives: Individual appointments for pregnancy tests, crisis/options counseling, pregnancy coaching, and parenting education.  If anyone is in need of our post-abortive support groups, please call for an appointment.  Office hours: Mon, Wed 1-6 PM.  Contact Wellsville Center Director, Tiffany Lussier @ BrightAlternatives@verizon.net or 585-593-0300.  We are located at 68 1/2 N. Main St. in Wellsville (side entrance on Fassett Street).

Release time: with parental permission students in public school are released from the school for religious instruction one hour/week.  For information on how to start a program respond to this email.
